The Coach

David was a pupil at Catsfield primary school when he himself first began to play cricket and it has been a long term ambition of his to set up a junior colts section at the village cricket club.

In 2011 David graduated from the University of Brighton with a degree in Sports Coaching and Development. He is also a UKCC ECB level 2 cricket coach and has recently attended a series of coach development workshops to enable him to progress into achieving the ECB Club Coach award.

David has coached in various other colt setups including those at Sidley CC and Hastings Priory CC whereas his current work for the Sussex Cricket Board has given him the opportunity to coach cricket to adults and children with disabilities and visual impairments.

  

Currently, David plays cricket for Catsfield’s senior team alongside his father and when he is not coaching works as a primary school PE Teacher and Teaching Assistant. In addition he is also first aid trained, CRB checked, has had Safeguarding and Protecting children training and is a member of the ECB’s coaching association.
